Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department
FireDeptLogoThe Grantsville Fire Department was established in 1927 and is a 100% volunteer department comprised of men and women who live within the Grantsville Community.
The department has 32 active members all of which have been trained and certified through the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy to the level of Fire Fighter I.  This level of certification also requires the fire fighters be trained and certified in the following areas Hazmat Awareness and Hazmat Operation.  To reach this level of certification members go through a 6 month training program.  20 of our members have been trained and certified to the level of Fire Fighter II.  Members also must complete 40 hours of training each year to maintain their certification.  In addition to the required fire fighter certification, members of the department also hold certifications in the following area; Wildland I, Apparatus Driver Operator Pumper and Aerial, Instructor I, Inspector I and Tester with the Fire Academy.  In addition to the fire service we provide basic EMT service as a supplement to Mountain West Ambulance and 15 of our members hold EMT's or AEMT's certifications.
